Update your name information
This guide explains how to update your name information in the university’s systems.
For University staff
Name information is retrieved from the Primula HR system. Please ask the HR contact at your department or unit to update your name in Primula. Once the change has been made, it takes approximately one day before a Directory Co-ordinator (Katalogansvarig) can adjust your email address to match your new name. Your old email address will continue to work and can still receive messages, but the new address will be the one displayed when emails are sent.
For Students
The university retrieves name information from Ladok, so any name change must first be registered there. Once your details have been updated in Ladok, the information will be transferred to the university’s systems automatically.
To make changes in Ladok, please contact the Student Services Office through the support form on this page: https://www.umu.se/en/contact-us/.
For External users
If you have a UMU ID at the university but are neither a student nor a member of staff, the Directory Co-ordinator (Katalogansvarig) at your department or unit can update your name information by requesting an update from the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket).
If you do not have a Swedish personal identity number you need to contact IT support, https://www.umu.se/en/servicedesk/.
